The Internal Revenue Service just announced that the nation's tax season will start on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, when the tax agency will begin accepting and processing 2021 tax year returns. The filing deadline to submit 2021 tax returns or an extension to file and pay tax owed is Monday, April 18, 2022, for most taxpayers, taxpayers requesting an extension will have until Monday, October 17, 2022, to file. Partnership and S-corporation returns (IRS Form 1065 IRS and Form 1120-S respectively) are due Tuesday, March 15, 2022
If you received assistance through Covered CA, you will have to file forms FTB 3895 and 1095-A. Without these forms, your refund will be delayed.

If you received a 3rd stimulus payment in late January of 2021, the IRS will issue letter 6475 to file with your 2021 tax return.
